Abstract: ThestartingpointofCBIapproachistohelpthestudentsbemotivatedandinterestedinthelanguagestudyduringtheprocessofcontent-basedinstruction,andfinallyacquirethelanguage.CBIapproachrequiresthecollegeEnglishteacherstochangetheirtraditionalteachingmethodsandteachingthinkingtoadapttothepresentcollegeEnglishteachingwhichaimstocultivatethestudents′comprehensivelanguageability.AmongstthefourmodesofCBI,thetheme-basedmodedoesnotrequiretheteacherstopossesstheprofessionalknowledgeinacertainfield,suitstheforeignlanguagelearnerswithdifferentlevels,andiseasyforthecollegeEnglishteacherstoimplementintheclassroomteaching.Therefore,thetheme-basedmodeisanidealchoicetocarryoutthepost-bandfourandbandsixcollegeEnglishteaching.
