Abstract: Throughtaking440freshmeninahighervocationalcollegeofYunnanasanexample,ChinesenonEnglishmajorsattitude,objectivesandstrategiestowardsEnglishlearning,wemaydrawtheconclusion:onthepremiseofthereformincollegeEnglisheducation,thoughthestudentsenthusiasmforstudyareveryhighandhaveadefiniteaim,theyhavenotgottenridofthetraditionallearningideaandlearningmethod.Theydefinitelyhaveaccustomedtotheteacherorientedclassroomteachingpattern.Thepapersuggeststhatweshouldlaystressonchangingthestudentslearningattitudeandmethods,fostertheircomprehensiveEnglishskills,especiallyinlistening,speaking,readingandreadingtoenhancetheEnglishlearningabilityandcomprehensiveEnglishcapacity.
