Abstract: Jewelry design and craftmanship is a branch of art design discipline, which was brought into thecategory of higher education in China in the 1990s. Reform and opening-up has promoted the development ofindustries and professions and professional development is uneven due to different regions. This paper focuseson the current situation and trend of the development of Yunnan jade jewelry industry, and explores the rea-sons for the gap between the teaching of jewelry design and craft-related professional colleges and analyzes therelationship between jewelry craftsmanship and modern science and technology from the perspective of talenttraining, and obtains the thoughts of jewelry design specialty construction and teaching reform method.
