Abstract: Sacrificial rite for the Meng God is a religious activity widely existed in the Dai area. It ismainly used to sacrifice the protector of Meng to protect the stability of the tribe. The rejection of foreignreligions and people and the various taboos against women and native officials in the rituals of the MengGod sacrifice reflects the obvious primitive religious features. Starting from Freud's theory of religious psy.chology and analyzing the typical manifestations of primitive religion in the rituals of the Meng Cod sacrifice , we can explain the religious behavior from the perspective of psychology.
