Abstract: Shilongba Hydropower Station, as the first hydropower plant in China, represents an important red industrial heritage site in Yunnan Province, embodying rich red cultural connotations and historical value. This article analyzes the main resources of Shilongba’s red industrial heritage and explores the significance of integrating them into ideological and political education courses in higher vocational colleges. It further proposes specific implementation paths for such integration. The study indicates that the effective incorporation of this red heritage can enhance the teaching effectiveness of ideological and political courses, foster students’ patriotism, professionalism, and social responsibility, and provide valuable insights for the reform and innovation of higher vocational education in the new era.
