Abstract: This study takes Kunming Old Street as an example to explore the application of cultural texture in the landscape design of commercial districts. It defines the concept of cultural texture and examines its impact on the development of commercial streets. The study analyzes the composition of the cultural texture of Kunming Old Street and investigates how to protect and inherit this cultural texture in landscape design. It also summarizes strategies for integrating traditional culture with modern commercial demands, and proposes a landscape optimization design scheme suitable for historic districts. Using literature review and field research, relevant theories are systematically organized and analyzed in depth according to the actual situation of Kunming Old Street. The goal is to achieve a balance between cultural heritage and commercial development, promoting the orderly development of the city through scientific conservation.
