Effect of Optional Physical Classes on College Students' Social Anxiety

Abstract:

The first question of college students' psychological health is about the social anxiety caused by social interaction problems.  Researches find that physical exercise  has  a positive effect on college students' psychological health.  But few researches could be found about how much physical teaching could affect students' social anxiety.  By means of questionaire survey and statistical analysis,this paper explores how different optional classes have effect on students' social anxiety problems.  The results show that sports like playing basketball、volleyball、football and sports dancing could improve the social anxiety of students with melancholic and phlegmatic temperaments;While,sports like yoga,martial arts seem to have obvious roles to students with choleric and sanguine temperaments;Sports like playing ping-gong/tennis,fitness and orientation movement,however, don't have much effect.
