Abstract: Digital economy empowers the tourism industry to upgrade and improve its quality through re- ducing transaction costs, improving production efficiency, optimizing industrial structure, and enhancing tourism satisfaction. By examining the cases of digital development in Lijiang Ancient City and Yulong Snow Mountain, the article finds that digital economy can provide data support and decision-making ba- sis, reduce the operating costs of tourist attractions, improve management efficiency, innovate the supply of tourism products, promote the integrated development of culture and tourism, and enhance tourists' sat- isfaction, thereby promoting the high-quality development of Lijiang's tourism industry. Therefore, Li- jiang should leverage digital technology, demand, innovation, and management as key drivers, accelerate the integration of the tourism industry with the Internet, digital technology, and data value, accelerate the development of digital infrastructure and platforms, narrow the digital divide between urban and rural are- as, promote the digital transformation of the tourism industry, and strengthen the supervision of data us- age security to achieve the quality improvement and upgrading of Lijiang's tourism industry.
