Abstract: By means of questionnares and interviews , the present situation of ideological and politicaltheory teaching in five agricultural and forestry universities and three comprehensive universities was in-vestigated. In the comparison, we find the problems existing in the teaching of ideological and politicaltheory courses for college students, and put forward the ways to improve the teaching effectiveness of ide-ological and political theory courses for students in agricultural and forestry colleges and universities , ho-ping to give full play to the role of the main channel and main position in the ideological and political ed-ucation of college students.
