Cultural Connotation Analysis of the Miao Folktale Buffalo and Tiger

Abstract: In the long social course of Miao people, animals are closely related to their life. From variousanimal totems in ancient times to all aspects of Miao people's life in modern society , there are stories a-bout Miao people and animals, such as various sacrificial activities with animals as the role , folk festivalsfrom animals, various animal patterns on Miao costumes, embroidery and batik. Animals are the symbolof power and life in Miao people's life. The folk stories with animals as the motif telling the Miao people'sunique emotional connection to animals, and the construction of the relationship between the Miao andanimals, and the embodiment of the harmonious social relationship between Miao and nature. The Miaofolktale Buffalo and Tiger is the crystallization of Miao people's life , which contains aesthetic view andmoral view. The Miao people put this kind of value concept into the folk stories, in order to better warnfuture generations how to behave , highlight the spiritual civilization and value system of Miao people, andcarry people's thinking and perception of objective existence, as well as their special feelings for produc.tion and life.
