Abstract: The concept ofgolden ratio” has been widely used in architecture and decorative arts sinceancient times, and it is an indispensable part in the study of traditional architectural decoration..Becauseof its unique geographical location and multi-ethnic culture, the traditional architecture in Yunnan Prov.ince presents a colorful appearance. The study focuses on the architecture and decoration in Shaxi ancienttown in Jianchuan County of Dali City , Yunnan Province. The application of the golden radio in tradition.al architectural decoration is discussed and expounded, which is significant to promote its aesthetic valueso as to give insights to protect and inherit the artistic traditions in local architecture.
