    Thedegreeoffissuredevelopmentofexpansivesoilunderdifferentwettingcyclesisdifferent.Inordertofindouttherelationshipbetweenstressstate,expansiveforceandthedevelopmentdegreeoffinalcracks,theexpansivesoilsfromPuzheheiAirportinWenshanBasin,YunnanProvince,weresampledandtestedunderdry-wetcycling.Theresultsshowhattheultimatecrackdevelopmentdegreeofexpansivesoiliscloselyrelatedtotheload.Theaveragecracklengthperunitareadecreasesfrom15317mm/10cm2under5kPaloadto10558mm/10cm2under40kPaload.Underthesameload,theaveragecracklengthperunitareaispositivelycorrelatedwiththeexpansiveforce,andtheexpansiveforceofsoilsampleis1276.KPacorrespondingto9783mm/10cm2 increasedto3952kPaofsoilsampleswellingforcecorrespondingto11391mm/10cm2.Theresultsshowthattheultimatecrackdevelopmentdegreeofexpansivesoilisrestrictedbyloadandisrelatedtoitsownexpansiveforce,whilethecrackdistributionisaffectedbywatercontentgradientdistribution.
