Reform of Traditional Curriculum Teaching in Universities under the‘New Liberal Arts" Initiative: A Case Study of theAncient Chinese Course

Abstract: Under the "New Liberal Arts" initiative, the construction of specialized courses in universitiesshould focus on the research outcomes of digital humanities, explore innovations and practices in intelli-gent teaching models, develop teaching resource databases, optimize teaching content, improve teachingmethods, and achieve resource sharing, ultimately aiming to enhance the quality of talent cultivation. Inthe teaching of Ancient Chinese, universities need to update their educational philosophies. They shouldstrengthen outcome-oriented, competency-based, goal-oriented, and demand-oriented designs in theprocesses of cultivating language sensitivity, explaining linguistic principles, and training in pragmaticpractices. This approach aims to guide students in producing tangible outcomes and enhancing their sense
of accomplishment.
