Abstract: To implement president Xi Jinping's theory of education deeply, promote vocational Englishteaching from the ideological and political perspective, and explore the effectiveness of ideological andpolitical education in vocational publish English. Our college has set up the mechanical and electricaengineering major as a teaching experimental class , and the teaching designs are based on professionaneeds. Adhering to the student-centered teaching philosophy , the ideological and political elements in theyocational English are combined with students'learning , life and employment. Diversified teaching meth-ods are adopted to improve the effectiveness of the application of ideological and political elements in vo-cational English teaching. Through teaching practice, it has been proven that through targeted teachingdesign, the teaching effectiveness of vocational English has been improved and enhanced.
