Abstract:  The function of general education has experienced a complex evolution process with differentnational conditions at different times. Connecting to the fundamental task of cultivating people with morality”in the new era, higher vocational education also needs to reflect the concept of “Holistic Educa-tion”in well-qualified talents cultivation with high technical skills in the new era. The general educationwill highlight the role of importance in talents cultivation's process for higher vocational education. Basedon the evolution of functions of general education, this paper draws forth the significance of talents culti-vation with technical skills in higher vocational education and carries out the theoretical explanation fromthree aspects: the course system, students' professional skills and the campus culture to discuss the full em-bodiment and connection of general education function in the position of higher vocational education.
