A Second Study of the Litchi Road in Dazhou in the Tang Dynasty

Abstract: The application of the Shu Road to the World Heritage List is in full swing now , and a secondstudy of the Litchi Road in Dazhou in the Tang Dynasty is of great significance for the further research.The term “litchi Roadis relatively rare in ancient documents and it first appeared in Wu Tao's Chua.nzhong Miscellanea. lt is an important part of the ancient Shu Road civilization and the litchi Road con.lenses profound histrotical, cultural and economic values. In 2017 , the newly discovered cliff statues ofthe Tang Dynasty found in the archaeological group in Dazhou Sichuan in Tang Dynasty can be a furtherevidence for the direction of the Litchi Road. With the assistance of classical documents and ancient roadrelics, it is concluded that the direction of the Litchi Road is as follows: Dazhu County goes through Dachuan District to Xuanhan county, Xuanhan county enters Wanyuan from Madu township through Ying.beichang and goes through Miaoya township, Sanguanchang and Shiwochang, from Wanyuan City out ofSichuan into Shanxi.
