Abstract: InfluenceofmeshdensityandmodelrangeoncalculationaccuracyofstrengthreductionFEM wasdiscussedbasedonsmalldeformationsupposition.Theresearchindicatedthatmeshdensityoffi niteelementmeshmodelhadremarkableinfluenceonthesafetyfactor.Thegapoftheresultbetween differentdegreesofmeshdensitymodelmayreachabove5%,soitisnecessarytousemeshmodelre finedenoughtoimprovethecalculationaccuracy.Modelboundaryhasverysmallinfluenceoncalcula tionaccuracy.Onlythemodelboundarywiderthanpotentialslickensideareaisneededincalculation. Themethodmakesthemodelsmaller,thussimplifiesthecalculationandimprovesthecomputationalef ficiency.
