Abstract: Extensivereadingisakeywaytopromotethedevelopmentoflanguage.DuetothelackofEnglishenvironment,itisimportantforChinesehighervocationalcollegestudentstoobtainsustainablelanguageproficiencybyafterclassEnglishreadings.Theauthoraimsatmasteringthecurrentsituationandexistingproblemsofhighervocationalcollegestudents’afterclassEnglishreading.Thispaperputsforwardthecorrespondingreadingguidancemethodsandsteps.ThenitsumsuptheeffectiveandpracticalwaystoguidehighervocationalcollegestudentstoenjoyEnglishreadingafterclass,ToimprovingstudentsreadingefficiencyfromselectingofafterclassEnglishmaterials,readingstepsandreadingmethods.
