Abstract: TwokeytechnologiesareneededtoprepareopticalfiberwithGeCl4.Oneistoremovetheme tallicimpurityinGeCl4 ,theotheristoremovethehydrogenimpuritiescontainedinGeCl4 .Theformer onehasbeendevelopedwithmaturetechnologyandcompleteequipmentbothathomeandabroad.The latterone,however,isatechnicalprobleminpreparingopticalfiberwithGeCl4 .Atpresent,welackthe technologyandmanufacturesofhighqualityfiberproductionathome.MostofGeCl4 productsusedinfi berareimportedfromabroad.Therefore,itisofgreatimportancetocarryoutresearchonremovinghy drogenimpuritiesinGeCl4 hattobreakthetechnologyblockadefromothercountriesandtoenhanceeco nomicefficiencyandinternationalcompetitiveness.Relevantresearchesweredoneaccordingtotestswith highpurityGeCl4 anddistillationtechnics,soastoprovidetechnicalreferenceandsupporttothetech nology.TheresultshowsthatcommondistillationprocessGeCl4 purificationcanwellremovehydrogen impuritiesinGeCl4 .
