Abstract: The chitosan microspheres immobilized with β-cyclodextrin(CDS) were prepared by reversed-phase suspension, crosslinked with epichlorohydin, and the adsorption capacities of the modified microspheres for methyl orange (MO) were studied. The structure of microspheres was characterized by FTIR and SEM. The effects of adsorption conditions, such as time, pH, temperature, the concentration of MO and the CDS microspheres adsorption efficiency. The experimental results suggested that, at pH4.0, adsorption balance time of cross-linking chitosan microspheres was 1h. CDSof microspheres was 2h.Adsorption data were fitted to the Freundlich isothermal equation and second-order kinetic.
