Abstract: To fill the gap in township level atlas and to extend surveying, mapping and geographic infor-mation services and applications to rural areas and towns, this study takes the Mohan Town Atlas as anexample. It presents the design process and technical characteristics of the atlas, using cartographic lan-guage to comprehensively show case Mohan's unique advantages in social, economic, cultural, locationalaspects. The atlas provides first-hand surveying and mapping data, solves the problem of missing townlevel atlases, and provides reference base maps for local development planning. This study explores andsummarizes the technical processes and improvement strategies for compiling township-level atlases, pro-viding a reference for the efficient and high-quality production of similar atlases.
