Abstract: This paper focuses on the lithium extraction technology in salt lakes, emphasizes the technical advantages of adsorption method in the treatment of lithium extraction from salt lake with high magnesium‑lithium ratio, compares in detail the structural characteristics and performance differences of three types of adsorbent materials, aluminum‑based, manganese‑based and titanium‑based, and clarifies the dominant position of the aluminum adsorbent in the current industrialized application. At the same time, the study systematically compares the engineering performance of fixed‑bed and moving‑bed adsorption processes from the perspectives of operational efficiency, adsorbent utilization, and economic feasibility. Finally, the tandem synergistic process of fixed‑bed and moving‑bed was designed and validated using an industrial lithium extraction project in a salt lake in Qinghai Province as an example, and the experimental results showed that the coupled system significantly increased the lithium recovery to 91.5%, which provided a new way of thinking for the optimization of the process while realizing the high efficiency of resource utilization.
